Our Food Freedom Project was recently featured in the Plainsman – the Mitchells Plain community newspaper. So far we have 70 Mitchells Plain families involved is this WesBank sponsored project who for a membership fee of  just R80 per year receive a two day permaculture food gardening course, 20 kg’s of compost, 10 kg’s of manure,  18 Seedlings, a container garden, up to 34 hours of food garden support from community activists and a members rate for other garden and plant resources. Families are eating delicious nutritious food from  their own gardens: good for their household budgets, their bodies and the planet.  We’re looking to recruit more Food Freedom Farmers, so If you would like to join the programme or  support it in some way please contact Micky our fantastic programme co-ordinator on 021 391 5316 or e-mail micky@seed.org.za.
