and counting…
SEED is growing climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods from the ground up in Cape Town’s communities. Through hands-on training, school partnerships, and youth development programmes, we equip hundreds of people each year with practical green skills, preparing them to start enterprises and step into the green economy. Our Outdoor Classroom programme now includes Caradale Primary School, delivering more than 100 lessons each year and sparking environmental literacy in the next generation. We tackle food insecurity through thriving community gardens that harvest and donate hundreds of kilograms of fresh produce annually, while supporting local families to grow their own food sustainably. SEED is planting the roots of a more resilient, self-sustaining future.
“The skills I learned at SEED have changed my perspective on what’s possible. Now, I’m creating something I can be proud of while giving back to my community.”
—Chadley, 2024 Applied Permaculture Training graduate
“Being part of SEED has allowed me to not only grow my business, but also give back by helping others learn and succeed. The support from SEED has made it possible for me to combine my passion for gardening with creating unique wooden art, and that’s been life-changing.”
—Theo, training graduate and volunteer
