    Leigh is a pioneer of resilience and regeneration education in South Africa, impacting tens of thousands of lives.


    Leigh restarted a environmental education pilot project in 2001, and founded SEED as a Non-Profit and Public Benefits Organisation in 2007.

     

    Leigh’s achievements included:


    Fundraising
     Raised R59 million for community education projects. 


    Strategy Aligned SEEDs vision with direction for meaningful impact.


    Leadership 
    Grew from startup to peak of 36 employees in six national nodes.

    Communication Professional with ability to write proposals, manifestos, reports, training material and strategy and copy for media platforms.


    Innovative Designer 
    of community based education programs, regenerative ecosystems, and green economy enterprises. 


    Instigator of Strategic Partnerships with Individuals, Community Forums, Organizations, Government (local, provincial, national) and Academic Institutions and Forums.


    Practiced Visionary 
    with track record of landing vision into implemented projects, adept at driving multiple initiatives from conception to completion including: Schools Projects, Vocational Youth Training and Community Resilience Projects.


    Awards:
    SEED won multiple awards including Green Trust Award, Imphumelelo Award, Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award, nominated for An Ashoka Fellowship.


    In 2024 Leigh handed the reigns to a new Operations Director.
